This is an evaluation for part of my interactive graphics project, specifically the game menu created in Adobe Animate. The submission can be viewed here: https://2102844.wixsite.com/conorfarmangamesdev/game-menu The project uses button functionality in order to navigate the menu; buttons look different based on whether they are hovered over or clicked on. These buttons also make use of basic code snippets in order to properly function. Two things that went particularly well when making this project were the animation of the book opening and the loading screen loop. The book animation was created using classic tween functions, which involve easy manipulation of images between frames to create the illusion of a book opening. The loading screen animation uses a movie clip symbol, which is its own animation separate from the rest of the document, meaning it acts independent of the other objects. Originally there was supposed to be a functional options menu which actually changed the graphics quality but this had to be scrapped due to time and technological constraints, as it would take too much time to implement a proper slider for audio volume. Instead there is a placeholder text where the options should be. Also, for the multiplayer menu, there was supposed to be a lobby screen featuring match settings, but this was also scrapped because of a lack of actual online functionality. The most difficult part was getting the logos to look right in the menu, as the colour scheme of the original logo would not have fit aesthetically. This was solved using Photoshop to edit the logo's colour scheme to reduce the amount of colours to fit the menu. This was done twice, once with a red colour scheme so it fits on the book's cover and again with a lighter scheme to fit with the book's pages and writing.
