Unit 7 Investigating interactive media production - Planning

In Unit 7 we are tasked with creating an interactive environment in Unreal Engine by creating assets and coding interactive elements. This task involves creating a dream bedroom or living room that contains interactive objects about ourselves. The planning stage involves drawing a basic floor plan, listing assets to make and forming a schedule to follow for this project. FLOOR PLAN

The floor plan highlights most of the objects that will appear in the room, in the locations they will generally appear. Other objects will also appear as detailed in the asset list. Different objects will have interactive elements (TV turning on/off etc) ASSET LIST Computer

INSPIRATION & RESEARCH The arcade machines could arranged in a similar fashion to the image, although there will be far fewer of them in my room. The room could be inspired from GTA Online apartments which have a modern and neutral look.

RESOURCES Unreal engine, for coding the level and arranging the assets 3DS Max, for asset creation including 3D models and applying some of their textures AwesomeBump, for creating and managing texture maps, altering their intensity, etc. Photoshop, for editing some of the UV unwraps docs.unrealengine.com could be useful for some guidelines on specific tutorials
